Davie completes utility-box art wraps at 17 locations; wraps expected to last 5–10 years

Parks staff reported completion of the town’s first public-art installation under the adopted public-art master plan: 18 utility-box wraps at 17 locations across Davie.
Jeff Pullman said the initial project installed wraps at major entry corridors and thoroughfares, including Southwest 14th Street and Shotgun Road; Flamingo Road and SR 84; State Road 7 at Griffin Road; Sterling Road and Davie Road; South Pine Island Road and Orange Drive; Griffin Road at I-75 ramps, among other sites. One location required a modified wrap image due to permitting requirements, Pullman said.
Pullman said the wraps are expected to last between five and ten years depending on wear and vandalism; the town has an agreement with the vendor for pricing on rewraps and cleaning. The Public Art Advisory Committee managed the selection and implementation process and has additional recommendations forthcoming to council.
