Orange Blossom Festival Parade and Rodeo set for Feb. 21–23 in Davie; parade highlights centennial theme

Town parks officials presented details for the 80th annual Orange Blossom Festival and Rodeo, scheduled to run Friday evening through Sunday at the Bamford Sports Complex and Bergeron Rodeo Grounds as part of Davie’s centennial celebration.

Jeff Pullman of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department said the festival will begin with a kickoff concert Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m., with headline music at 6:30 p.m. Festival hours are Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The parade will step off Saturday at 10 a.m. and immediately open the festival grounds, which will host more than 100 pre-registered vendors, multicultural performances, a large children’s area, a petting farm, farmers market and historical displays.

The Orange Blossom Rodeo will hold two performances at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds: Saturday gates at 6 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. performance and Sunday gates at 1 p.m. for a 2 p.m. performance. Shuttle service will be provided Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. between the rodeo grounds and the park; attendees are asked to enter the festival grounds from the main entrance off Pine Island Road. Tickets for the rodeo can be purchased online at davyprorodeo.com or at Griffed Western Wear on Orange Drive.

Festival activities will also include live music on the main stage sponsored by Seminole Classic Casino, community performances, a vendor fair, and special displays by local nonprofits including the Davie Area Land Trust and the Davie Women’s Club strawberry festival. Town staff emphasized handicapped parking near the playground area and other accessibility accommodations.
