Board conditionally approves Crossroads Chapel rebuild at 1040 Tampa Road

The Pinellas County Board of Adjustment and Appeals on Feb. 5 granted conditional approval for a Type 2 use allowing Crossroads Chapel Church of God of Prophecy of Palm Harbor to demolish existing structures and construct a new 9,600‑square‑foot place of worship and administration building at 1040 Tampa Road.
Michael, the county staff presenter, said the church property is approximately 1.36 acres and has operated as a place of worship since 1968. "The proposed place of worship will meet all the minimum development parameters and parking requirements to serve its use," he told the board, and staff recommended conditional approval with standard site‑plan permits, fees and preservation of existing easements used to access a county retention facility.
Sean Cash of Gulf Coast Consulting attended for the applicant and said he was available to answer questions. No opponents appeared at the public hearing.
Board member Baumstein moved to approve staff's recommendation; Board member Bello seconded. The motion carried unanimously on a 7–0 vote.
The approval is conditional on the findings of fact in the staff report, required permits and fees, and maintenance of the existing easements that provide access to the county retention facility.
