During a public hearing on Feb. 6, the Clay County School Board voted 5–0 to approve the advertised 2023–24 through 2025–26 policies and procedures manual.
Board member Miss Hanson moved approval and Mister Alvaro seconded. After the vote, the chair announced the motion carried 5–0. The public hearing had been opened for agenda item D3; one speaker, Ty Bruce Friedman, addressed policy changes but the board clarified he was referencing ESE policies and he concluded his remarks without a formal challenge to the advertised manual.
Later in the meeting the board adopted a consent agenda (with item C19 withdrawn). Miss Gilhausen moved approval of the consent agenda and Miss Clark seconded; the board again voted 5–0 to adopt the consent agenda. A board member noted a prior mis-click that was corrected for the record.
No additional substantive amendments to the advertised policies were recorded in the public meeting minutes. The district announced proclamations for Black History Month and Career and Technical Education Month as part of the consent items.
