The mayor read a prepared statement posted to the city’s website describing the grant and noting that Crest Hill is a member of the Grand Prairie Water Commission, a group of six communities pursuing Lake Michigan water.
No council action was required to accept the grant at the meeting; the mayor invited aldermen to comment and several expressed appreciation for the congresswoman’s engagement with the project.
