Quarterly safety report: FLDOE inspected 15 schools, 11 found without deficiencies

Matt Boyack, director of safety and security for Clay County District Schools, reported to the board that in the second quarter of the 2024–25 school year the Florida Department of Education Office of Safe Schools inspected or reinspected 15 schools — roughly 34.09% of district schools — and that 11 of those 15 inspected schools (73.3%) had no school safety requirement deficiencies.
Boyack said the results bring a running total of 15 out of 19 inspections with no compliance issues for the year. He cited the statutory requirement that districts receive quarterly reports from the FLDOE Office of Safe Schools and said the office presented the report in a public meeting as required.
"I am very proud of everyone's efforts and know we will continue to make safety a daily priority," Boyack said, thanking school leaders, teachers and support staff for their work on compliance.
Boyack asked the public to recognize the board’s and superintendent’s commitment to school safety and said the district goes "above and beyond what is legally required" to keep schools safe. No new policy votes or budget decisions were announced as part of the report.
