Planning commission dismisses proposed Mentor code amendments without prejudice

The Mentor Planning Commission on Feb. 6, 2025, voted unanimously to dismiss without prejudice proposed amendments to chapter 11 57.02 and 11 58.05 of the Mentor Code of Ordinances.
The dismissal came after commission members said the matter had been on the agenda repeatedly and that additional materials were still outstanding. The chair asked for a motion to remove the item from the table and later asked for a motion to dismiss; commissioners voted in favor on the roll call.
Kathy, planning department staff, confirmed the amendments "have been on the agenda for a while, and we're still waiting on a few things." The commission took no further action and recorded the dismissal for the record.
Because commissioners chose to dismiss the amendments without prejudice, the city may bring the matter back when outstanding details are provided and the administration is prepared to proceed.
The vote recorded on the transcript was unanimous in favor of dismissal.
