Director reports limited flooding near Town Hall boiler room; advisory committee approves October minutes

Granite Town Media director Chris Gentry updated the committee that recent flooding at Town Hall reached the boiler room and community development areas but had minimal impact on the media equipment area.
Gentry said water seeped through brick into GTM’s equipment area but that mitigation was prompt and limited to a puddle and a few affected casters; a mitigation company was hired and fans were used to dry walls and carpets. He said the town submitted a claim to PrimeX and that the media area itself “was not affected” beyond minor, localized dampness.
Members asked whether the incident would cause mildew; Gentry said quick mitigation lessened that risk. He said some areas, such as the bathrooms and the space between the garage and equipment room, had drains and were largely unaffected.
On housekeeping business, the committee moved and seconded approval of the October minutes. A voice vote was recorded: all in favor, no opposed. The chair announced the motion carried and the minutes passed.
The committee then continued with other agenda items and scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 27.
