The Veterans Park Ad Hoc Committee voted unanimously on Jan. 22 to accept a revised 2025 meeting schedule that would move regular meetings to every other month beginning March 26.
Don Bailey, a committee member, moved to accept the revised schedule; Kevin Burrows seconded the motion and the committee approved it on a unanimous voice vote. Committee members said monthly meetings had produced little new information between sessions and that an every‑other‑month cadence would free members while allowing special meetings for significant developments.
Bailey, noting the slowdown in monthly updates, said, “I think things are just not as much information getting out now that, every monthly meeting. Very, very small amount of information is carried for from 1 month to another. So why not I'm okay with skipping a month.” Other members agreed that staff could circulate updates by email and that the committee could be reconvened if a contractor or design change required committee input.
The revised schedule is attached to the Jan. 22 agenda; the next regular meeting under the new schedule is March 26. Committee members noted that any extraordinary design or budget issues could prompt a special meeting, and that staff would notify members and the public as needed.
