Thailandia cuisine, a new Thai restaurant owned by David and Alexander Fassett, has opened in the heart of El Segundo’s business district, the owners said, bringing imported décor, a broad menu and staff with long experience in Thai cooking.
The Fassetts said they chose the location because of steady pedestrian traffic during setup and strong neighborhood interest. They credited the city’s staff for responsiveness and singled out Marcia at the Chamber of Commerce for help connecting the owners to local resources.
The restaurant’s interior includes items brought from Thailand, the owners said, and the kitchen is led by a chef they identified as Jim, who they said trained in Thailand and has more than 15 years of experience. The menu aims to cover a wide range of Thai dishes so families and repeat customers can find favorites; owners highlighted mango sticky rice, Papaya salad, Penang salmon, cashew chicken, various curries and noodle dishes, and house-made desserts such as banana roti.
Owners described Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee as popular beverages on opening. They said the combination of experienced cooks and attentive service is expected to generate repeat business.
The owners thanked local supporters and recommended El Segundo as a place to start a business. No information about hours, employment numbers, lease terms or city permits was specified in the record provided.
For Al Segundo Media, Catherine Chen delivered the profile segment.
