House Transportation Committee presses Agency of Transportation for line‑item detail on $884 million budget

The House Transportation Committee on Feb. 6 pressed Agency of Transportation officials for more line‑item detail as lawmakers review the department’s proposed $884,000,000 budget and related policy proposals. Committee members asked for additional briefings on maintenance spending, public transit reports, the Department of Motor Vehicles budget and funding for electric‑vehicle charging infrastructure.

Committee Chair Walker opened the session by outlining the schedule for the next meetings, saying the committee still had presentations from the Department of Motor Vehicles and the environmental policy and sustainability office, and that the committee would “start hearing … the agencies’ policy request changes, language, law changes.”
