The Buckley City Council approved a package of routine governance items and adopted Ordinance No. 01-25, which amends the 2025 city employee salary scale, during its meeting.
Council members voted to approve the Citizens Advisory Commission's 2025 work plan, the Senior Citizen Advisory Commission's work plan and the Planning Commission's annual work plan and meeting schedule. The council also nominated and approved a Mayor Pro Tem and set council committee and liaison assignments for the year.
Ordinance No. 01-25, described on the agenda as "amending the 2025 City Employee Salary Scales," was moved, seconded and approved by roll call. During the roll-call vote councilmembers recorded "Aye/Yes" for each named member; the presiding officer announced, "Motion carries."
Other routine actions approved included placement of items on the consent agenda and approval of the consent agenda itself. A city staff report noted a $5,000 direct allocation from Pierce County Council member Dave Morrell for youth-center programming.
The meeting closed after a final public-comment check and councilmember remarks, followed by a motion to adjourn.
