Council approves final plat for Centralia Woods PUD, moving 86 housing units closer to completion

The Centralia City Council approved the final plat for Centralia Woods, a planned‑unit development formerly known as Kresge Landing, advancing roughly 86 new housing units closer to construction and sale.
Emil Pearson, city planning staff, told the council the development shifted toward primarily single‑family homes after the developer concluded single‑family product would sell better than twin homes. The project team has completed construction drawings and either installed required public improvements or posted bonds for outstanding items. Any final landscaping that waits for spring planting may be bonded.
“Once the city council approves a preliminary plat, then the real project designing begins... those construction drawings then get approved by our city engineer, Patty, as well as the other city departments,” Pearson said. He added the work is essentially complete or bonded and that the subdivision will be ready for the March tournament season.
No public comment was offered on the item at the council meeting. The motion to approve the final plat passed unanimously.
