Town orders durable, self-watering pots for downtown planters; delivery expected within weeks

The Community Redevelopment Agency confirmed it has ordered the downtown flower pots that will sit on the heritage pavers in Journal Plaza and other locations.
Alex (TWQ), the consultant who reviewed pot siting and measurements, said the chosen pots are resin-based, UV-stabilized, self-watering and come with a lifetime warranty; Robins Nursery will soil and plant the pots before delivery. "They're very durable. They have UV inhibitors embedded to resist any sun fade," Alex said. He told the CRA he had provided measurements to the vendor to ensure pots fit the planned locations.
Keep Lake Placid Beautiful indicated the pots will be planted with low-maintenance arrangements and that the group expects delivery in roughly two weeks. Members said the planting palette and heights will be coordinated with the town—s flower contractor to ensure consistency with other downtown beds and to avoid clashing styles.
