The Fife Parks Advisory Board held internal officer elections and approved meeting minutes during its Feb. 5 session.
The board voted to approve the Jan. 8, 2025 meeting minutes on a motion announced at the Feb. 5 meeting; the chair called the question and declared the motion carried after board members voiced “aye.” No roll-call tally was recorded in the minutes of the Feb. 5 meeting.
The board then addressed an unplanned vacancy: the previous chair had vacated the post and the vice chair’s term had expired, so the board conducted nominations and an open vote. Lauren Bunk nominated herself for chair, the nomination was seconded, and the board voted; board member Sarah publicly stated, “I vote for Lauren Bunk.” The chair declared that Bunk received the most votes and was elected chair.
For vice chair, a board member nominated Steve Morissette and the nomination was seconded. Board member Sarah publicly stated, “I vote for Steve Morissette.” The chair announced that Morissette received the most votes and was elected vice chair.
The board did not record a roll-call vote tally in the transcript for either officer election; meeting discussion shows the votes were taken openly and the chair announced the winners. No contested ballots or abstentions were recorded in the meeting transcript.
