The vote, taken on agenda item 19 d, carried 3–1 after a discussion that focused on school capacity, public‑safety coverage and the multi‑decade buildout expected for the project.
Thomas Nunez, manager of planning and zoning services, told the council the annexed parcel will be developed in phases and is planned for a mixture of single‑family homes, duplexes, townhomes and multifamily units, plus retail and recreational amenities.
