Outfitting quotes were $17,685.72 to outfit the Durango and $33,666.56 to outfit both Chargers. “The total expenditure for this proposal will be $168,116.28, which will be funded by the … Police Department Foundation,” the department representative said. The representative added the foundation currently has more than $1,400,000 and staff expect additional deposits from tax season.
The representative said all vehicles are in stock and available for immediate pickup, that MDTs (mobile data terminals) would be transferred from existing vehicles, and that older Ford Explorers would be moved to spare or decoy use. Sergeant Turner was referenced in the presentation as an officer familiar with the department’s fleet issues.
A council member moved to approve the purchase and outfitting “as presented.” The motion passed on a recorded voice tally of five to zero.
