Mesilla Valley MPO TAC elects Tim Pitts chair, Mike Carson vice chair

The Mesilla Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Advisory Committee on Feb. 6 elected Tim Pitts as chair for 2025 and Mike Carson as vice chair, and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from the previous meeting.
The committee approved the agenda on a motion and second; the motion passed unanimously. The meeting then opened nominations for committee officers. Tim Pitts was nominated and, with no further nominations, elected chair by acclamation. Mike Carson self‑nominated for vice chair, was seconded, and was elected by acclamation. The committee also approved last month’s minutes by voice vote.
Those procedural actions occurred at the start and at the close of the agenda; no formal debate or policy changes accompanied the officer elections. The outgoing presiding officer remained in the chair through the completion of the officers item and then yielded the position.
The committee adjourned at the end of the scheduled business following a motion and second that passed by voice vote.
