The St. Clair County Ways & Means Committee ratified three collective bargaining agreements: a contract for corrections deputies, a contract for the corrections command, and a contract covering Circuit Court family supervisors, probate and public-guardian employees. Each resolution was presented as final action and approved by committee vote (voice votes recorded as "Aye; motion carries").
County staff explained an insurance change included in the agreements would apply to claims paid in February. Staff said corrections deputies received an equity adjustment after a comparables study showed their pay was substantially low; for the corrections command the committee approved a tentative agreement that included a reopener provision for sergeants in the second year of the contract to consider further adjustment pending additional data. The Circuit Court family-supervisors group agreed to the standard contract terms.
Separately the committee moved Board of Commissioners bylaw revisions to the full board for further discussion at the organizational meeting and forwarded items including the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments 2025 membership dues, a landfill manning table change request, and an addendum to a Cutting Edge Lawn & Snow contract. The committee also voted to enter a closed session to discuss collective bargaining strategy.
