The Human Services Committee forwarded a Community Education Network grant for library lit-fiber internet service to the full St. Clair County Board of Commissioners and received the Health Department's January 20 "Points of Interest" packet.
The grant motion passed on a voice vote after a motion and second; committee members then voted to "receive and file" the Health Department report. Commissioner Felix provided an update from the county board of health advisory meeting, saying the advisory board received a report from Dr. Nevin on health effects related to solar projects and asked the health department to determine when it could provide "some action" on the findings.
The advisory meeting referenced by Felix occurred Jan. 15; Felix said Liz King and Greg Brown indicated the advisory board would determine a timeline at its next meeting. The committee did not take further action on the solar report itself during the Human Services Committee meeting.
Committee members made no additional human services motions that evening and adjourned after the packet votes.
