The Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools Audit Committee on Feb. 6 recommended the FY 2023–24 external financial audit be forwarded to the Board of Education after staff reported the external audit firm had no findings and was unable to attend the meeting.
Committee members agreed to recommend the report to the board and noted that the audit firm, Malden Jenkins, would be asked to attend the Board meeting if members had questions. Committee member Rosalind said the district conducts a request for proposals for external audit services and that the district is in the final year of the current three-year contract; an RFP will be issued after the contract expires.
A motion to recommend the FY 2023–24 external financial audit to the Board of Education was moved, seconded and accepted by voice vote.
