Board approves midyear budget changes, position allocations and records post-abatement lien; multiple advisory appointments confirmed

The Lake County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 4 adopted midyear amendments to the FY 2024–25 adopted budget and approved a separate resolution amending position allocations for the fiscal year, then directed staff to record a lien following a summary abatement at a Lucerne property.

The board voted unanimously on both budget items after staff outlined revenue increases, reserve adjustments and appropriations for a number of departments and programs. The midyear adjustments included new grants for public safety facilities and the Watershed Protection District and an increased budget for the county's ERP conversion. The board also approved a companion resolution to bring position allocations into conformance with the midyear changes.

During a later hearing the board approved a post-abatement lien for 6439 15th Avenue in Lucerne after county code-enforcement contractors cleared hazardous waste and debris that county staff said posed an immediate health risk. County staff requested the board direct recordation of a lien for $9,339.96 to recover contractor and administration costs; the board voted to record the lien.

In addition to those actions, the board confirmed multiple advisory-board appointments across several county committees, reappointing incumbents and filling vacancies on boards that included the Emergency Medical Care Council, the Big Valley Advisory Council, Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee, Lake County Resource Conservation District and other local advisory bodies. The board accepted a consent agenda earlier in the meeting and approved the routine items by unanimous vote.
