Senator Abler moved to withdraw Senate File 554 from the Committee on Health and Human Services and re-refer it to the Committee on Human Services, saying, "I move that senate file 5 54 be withdrawn from the committee on health and human services, and be re referred to the committee on human services." Abler told the presiding officer that both committee chairs were in agreement. The motion was approved by voice vote.
Senator Marty moved to withdraw Senate File 929 from the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection and refer it to the Committee on Health and Human Services, and later moved that Senate File 920 be withdrawn from Commerce and Consumer Protection and referred to Health and Human Services. In each case Marty said the affected committee chairs were in agreement; both motions were approved by voice vote.
The Senate also approved a procedural motion to adopt authors’ motions as a single motion and then took up final business. A motion to adjourn carried after a voice vote; the presiding officer announced the Senate would reconvene Monday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m.
There was no extended debate recorded on the substance of the bills during the floor actions; senators stated that the involved committee chairs agreed to the reassignments. The record shows the motions were handled as procedural committee referrals and concluded with the chamber’s adjournment.
