Board to rework student attendance policy amid upcoming rezoning; superintendent to withdraw draft for rewrite

Ms. Stevenson said the model policy "is virtually nothing to it" and urged retaining policy-level guidance while moving operational details to procedure only after cross-referencing where text will go. Mr. Moore and others asked that any material moved to procedure be available to the board before policy changes take effect.
In response, Ventura said she would withdraw the proposed 1.703 and 6.206 amendments and bring a reworked 1.703 to the next board work session, then propose leveraging the model policy for 6.206 while ensuring statutory citations remain. "I am going to withdraw 1.703 and 6.206. I'll rework 1.703...and my recommendation is 6.206 is really the model policy with with 1 caveat," she told the board.
