The Planning Commission of the City of West Bend voted to approve a conditional-use permit allowing a tattoo establishment at 544 South Main Street, Unit B, operated by Mackenzie Albero for Trillium Tattoo LLC.
Staff presented the request, noting that tattoo establishments require a conditional use in the B1 zoning district and that the applicant provided an operations letter showing proposed hours of 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday by appointment. Staff said the business expects to employ one to two people on site and to serve roughly 2–6 clients per day (about 32–96 clients per month). Deliveries were described as being sent to the owner’s home and brought to the business; parking is available on Main Street and Oak Street. Staff told the commission it had notified property owners within 200 feet and received no inquiries, and staff recommended approval with listed conditions.
The public hearing was opened and no members of the public spoke. The commission closed the public hearing, moved and seconded the recommendation and then voted in favor. The motion carried.
The commission record shows the business holds the state tattooing license cited by staff. The approval was conditioned on the standard items listed in the staff report; staff will administer and verify those conditions.
Planning staff cited the City of West Bend zoning requirement that tattoo establishments in B1 zoning be processed as conditional uses and confirmed public-notice procedures complied with Wisconsin state statutes.
