Judy Bernard, who identified herself as executive director of the Ridgecrest Pregnancy Care Center, accepted the proclamation and thanked the council and community for the support. "I'm the new executive director of Ridgecrest Pregnancy Care Center," Bernard said during the presentation; she expressed appreciation for the council’s recognition and said the coalition has helped save lives.
The proclamation encourages Ridgecrest residents to support the Safely Surrendered Baby Coalition’s work during February 2025. No formal council vote was required for the ceremonial proclamation; the item was presented as a recognition by the mayor and council.
