Commission appoints RJ Flores as Christian County citizen-at-large alternate to Ozark Transportation Organization

Commissioner Bradley Jackson recommended Flores, citing Flores’s experience as former mayor pro tem and interim mayor of the City of Ozark and service on local planning and historic-preservation bodies. Jackson told commissioners Flores was familiar with OTO and could immediately serve as a voting representative when the presiding commissioner is unavailable.
“[Flores] has a ton of experience,” Jackson said, describing Flores’s background on the City of Ozark planning and zoning commission and other local boards. A commissioner moved to approve Flores’s appointment; another commissioner seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. Commissioners said having an active, experienced citizen representative on OTO is important because the regional organization influences where federal and state transportation funds are allocated in southwest Missouri and manages the technical and policy committees that recommend projects.
The appointment fills the citizen-at-large slot after a recent resignation and is intended to restore Christian County’s voting representation on the OTO board.
