Oconomowoc council reviews Village Green design, contractor bids and $1.2M funding gap

City staff presented updated designs, contractor bids and a funding plan for the Village Green renovation and boardwalk at the City of Oconomowoc Common Council meeting on Feb. 4.

City staff member Jason Herzog said the project team had run two public information meetings, an online poll and multiple design reviews and that the bid package reflected recent work with the architectural board. “I just kinda wanted to bring you up to speed with our project at the Village Green,” Herzog said during the presentation.

The council heard that the city received six bids; Elite Builds submitted the low bid and was among the lower-cost bidders on alternate items. Herzog said the top four bids were tightly clustered, within roughly $40,000 of one another, and that alternates covered a northward continuation of the boardwalk.

Laurie (city staff member, finance) outlined funding that the city is proposing to assemble. She said the city previously approved $1,000,000 from TIF No. 4 for gateway infrastructure and that $595,000 in park impact fees are available for the bathroom structure.
