City representatives and the Community Redevelopment Agency have drafted a request for proposals (RFP) to invite museums or cultural organizations to propose a presence inside the Main Library, Library Director Jen told the advisory board.
Jen said the CRA and library staff collaborated on the RFP and that the final draft had been presented to city council; the CRA hopes to release the RFP soon. She said the proposal window will remain open for four months and that the scope of potential proposals will vary depending on how much space an organization requests. Jen said any selection would require council approval after an internal staff review.
She encouraged board members who are involved with local cultural groups to be aware of the opportunity and to pass the information along.
Ending: Jen said it will be "very interesting to see who responds" and the board will be updated as the CRA and council move the proposal forward.
