MONROEVILLE, Pa. — Residents urged the Municipality of Monroeville to weigh community priorities as the Monroeville Mall changes hands, speaking at the municipality’s Citizens Night and agenda-setting meeting on Feb. 4.
Two residents who spoke said the mall’s prospective redevelopment raised both opportunities and concerns for local businesses, services and long-time residents. Georgiana Woodhall, who said she has lived in Monroeville for 70 years, recalled past opposition to a Walmart proposal and warned developers against repeating patterns residents found harmful. “If they come in here and try and do what they did in the past, I'll be their biggest nightmare,” Woodhall said.
