Committee advances two bills to the House floor, carries one work session for later review

The bill authorizes specific state agencies (Department of Revenue, Department of Justice Division of Child Support, Division of Child Care, and corrections/county jails) to share information with the Oregon Employment Department to administer Paid Leave Oregon and unemployment insurance, and allows joint audits and expanded data sharing (including W-2/1099 and self-employment income reports) for administration.

HB 30 24 (work session carried): Committee members carried over the work session on House Bill 30 24 to the committee's next meeting (scheduled for Mar. 5), citing the need for additional review of a recently received fiscal impact statement and follow-up questions about administrative savings and claimant counts. The Employment Department's UI director answered questions about fiscal estimates and administrative impacts but several members asked for more precise numbers before acting.
