The committee discussed a historical society funding request that included proposals for new temporary FTEs. Representative Hansen said the society had suggested creating FTEs for work items; the governor’s budget made some of those positions temporary, which affects benefit calculations and the total cost the committee must consider.
Staff said they are working with Legislative Council and agency contacts (Levi) to update long sheets between the meeting and the afternoon session so the committee can reconcile totals and follow up on the society’s “wish list.” Members acknowledged the need to adjust figures because temporary positions do not receive certain benefits and therefore change the fiscal totals in the long sheet.
