CSAB process and priorities
Bailey said CSAB members established investment goals for FY25 based on risk and indicator data and local priorities raised by members. The board prioritized reducing foster-care reentry, shortening time to permanency for children in foster care, improving child behavioral functioning and supporting developmentally appropriate literacy. The CSAB said it thoroughly evaluates proposals; the chair noted the board typically receives about 11 applications per week during the application window and that each application receives detailed member review.
Vote and next steps
The commission took a roll-call vote to confirm Felton's appointment; the record shows the appointment passed 3-2 with Commissioners McCann and Bearden recorded in opposition and Commissioners Felts and Sadiq absent from the vote. The CSAB presentation was informational and CSAB leaders said staff will return with funding agreements and implementation details for the recommended nonprofit investments.
