A Wheeling resident speaking during public comment on Feb. 3 told the Village Board that he and his brother, who operate a small limousine business, received two tickets after parking stretch limousines overnight in a residential area. The resident said city hall and the police informed him that parking the vehicles in a residential area violated local rules; he paid the tickets but asked trustees to consider options such as a residential commercial-vehicle permit similar to neighboring Park Ridge.
"Yesterday, I got 2 tickets on both of my Lima car parked on a residential area of a commercial vehicle," the speaker said, describing the difficulty of fitting two stretch limousines on his driveway and asking for guidance.
President Horker declined to engage in a back-and-forth during the public meeting but indicated a staffer could help. The resident and trustees were directed to contact a staff member identified in the meeting as Mr. Clicker for follow-up; Clicker held out a card and staff offered to provide direct assistance on parking rules and possible permit options. No policy change or formal direction was taken during the meeting.
