Matt, Public Works Director, said certain intersections and culverts in the Division Road project require detailed hydraulic analysis and, in some cases, structural adjustments to meet design standards and avoid enlarging mapped floodplain footprints.
The committee reviewed an attached RFP and recommended consultants for four identified projects. Staff explained the selection favored firms familiar with each project area to shorten schedules; “project b” — the most complex stretch of Division Road — was assigned to a firm with prior Division Road work and higher estimated hours.
A motion to award professional services agreements for the floodplain evaluations and related designs passed unanimously. Staff said the work is budgeted across Division Road and the annual road program and estimated aggregate consultant effort at approximately $100,000 across the projects.
