Council Member Carlo Carlucci’s preliminary assessment ordinance for solid-waste services advanced out of the Rules Committee on Feb. 3 after extensive public and committee discussion and two technical amendments. The committee adopted a neighborhoods amendment and a technical Carlucci amendment and then voted 4-3 to approve the ordinance as amended.
The amendment package and the ordinance as amended set the monthly assessment at $27 for calendar year 2025, $29.50 for 2026 and $32 for 2027, subject to annual council approval, and authorizes the city to mail notices and set a public hearing on the final assessment.…
