Galt City Council approves consent items, treasurer—s report and authorizes full council delegation to Cap to Cap

GALT CITY — The Galt City Council on Monday approved routine consent items and the city treasurer—s December report, confirmed multiple commission appointments and voted 5-0 to authorize sending up to five council members to the Sacramento Metro Chamber—s Cap to Cap federal advocacy conference in May.

The votes came during a regularly scheduled council meeting in February and followed public comment and staff presentations. The council recorded unanimous roll-call approvals on the consent calendar, the treasurer—s report and the Cap to Cap travel authorization.

The consent calendar included two items: receipt and filing of warrants through Jan. 23, 2025, and the minutes of the council—s Jan. 1, 2025 meeting. Council approved the minutes as amended to note a planning commission appointment, and then approved the warrants after councilmember questions about a large contractor payment. Councilmember Reid asked about check 234405, described in the warrants as paid to George Reed, Inc., for "just over $1,200,000."
