The Village of Lisle on Feb. 3 approved a first amendment to the sale of surplus public real estate at 922 School Street that extends the zoning‑approval period tied to a sale and purchase agreement with BSP3 LLC to April 8, 2025. During board discussion Trustee Mullin moved an amendment to the motion to add himself as an alternate trustee signatory; the board approved that amendment and then approved the ordinance authorizing the amendment to the sale agreement.
Village Manager Mode said the amendment responds to direction given at the Jan. 13 Committee of the Whole and would extend zoning approvals related to the sale and purchase agreement while the Planning and Zoning Commission continues its public hearings; staff noted a P&Z continuation hearing scheduled for Feb. 19. Manager Mode said the approval this evening was limited to an extension of the date until April 8, 2025.
An extended board discussion included remarks from Trustee Clerico, who urged caution about divesting the property because of its proximity to the museum campus and potential future parking or campus expansion. Clerico said the parcel “potentially could house parking or future buildings” and said he would vote no. Trustee Olson said the design plan indicated the pathway between the cemetery and the museum campus was anticipated to be deeded back to the village and that he supported the sale; Trustee Mullin said he had nothing further beyond prior committee discussion.
Trustees voted on the amendment to add Trustee Mullin as an alternate signature. The roll call on the amended motion recorded: Mullin — Aye; Duffy — Aye; Greco — No; Lesniak — Aye; Olson — Aye; Saima — Aye. The amendment passed. On the ordinance itself the roll call recorded the same distribution (Greco voting No); the ordinance passed.
The board did not finalize any zoning text changes tonight; the approval extends only the deadline tied to the sale and purchase agreement so the Planning and Zoning Commission may continue its review. The sale remains subject to conditions and any approvals required by the P&Z process and by the sale and purchase agreement with BSP3 LLC.
