The Village of Lisle on Feb. 3 held a public hearing and then approved ordinances annexing 1003 Maple Avenue, assigning it R‑1 zoning, and approving a map amendment, preliminary and final plat of subdivision, a special‑use permit and variances for 1003 and 1007 Maple Avenue to allow consolidation and redevelopment.
Development Services Director Smetana told the board the property is contiguous to Lisle’s corporate limits and that the proposed annexation would permit consolidation of 1003 Maple Avenue with 1007 Maple Avenue “for the purpose of expanding an existing veterinary clinic.” Smetana said the Planning and Zoning Commission held public hearings and recommended approval of the related land‑use requests.
The public hearing opened and closed without public comment. The board then approved the annexation and the related map amendment and subdivision ordinance by roll call. Clerk Grau recorded ayes from Trustees Mullin, Duffy, Greco, Lesniak, Olson and Saima; the ordinances passed.
Trustee Lesniak asked whether the consolidation and expansion would create parking impacts and how many clients the clinic would serve at one time; Smetana deferred specific operational questions to the applicant. The transcript records no public objections at the Planning and Zoning Commission hearing or at the board meeting.
Together the actions move the properties from unincorporated status into the village, apply R‑1 zoning automatically as provided in Lisle’s zoning ordinance, and authorize subdivision and special‑use approvals needed for the consolidated veterinary facility. The ordinances include the variances and conditions recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The board’s approvals complete local land‑use steps; the minutes and staff presentation noted the Planning and Zoning Commission previously conducted hearings on the map‑amendment and subdivision requests and recommended approval.
