At its Feb. 4 meeting, the Shelton City Council voted to place Resolution No. 1359-1124, accepting a lease with D Manor LLC for a parcel behind the apartment complex at 1202 West Franklin Street, on the Feb. 18 consent agenda for further consideration.
Parks and Recreation staffer Roger Jordan Kupfels told the council the city leases about 19,800 square feet to D Manor LLC (referred to as the DuMontet property) to allow the tenant access to and from their building and that the lease requires the tenant to maintain the area while granting the city access for municipal business. Kupfels described the parcel as running up toward the trail behind Olympic Highway near Luke Field.
The lease term is five years; the tenant will pay an annual fee of $641.85 plus applicable taxes, Kupfels said. The city retains the right to access the gated area for city business. No additional terms were read into the record at the Feb. 4 meeting.
Council member (mover) moved to place the resolution on the Feb. 18 consent agenda; a council member (second) seconded the motion. The council voted in favor; the motion carried. No final adoption of the lease occurred at the Feb. 4 session—the resolution is scheduled for the Feb. 18 consent agenda.
The resolution title read into the record: “Resolution number 1359-1124. A resolution of the Council of the City of Shelton, Washington accepting the DuMontet lease agreement.”
Council also approved the meeting’s consent agenda earlier in the session by unanimous voice vote; that procedural motion carried and was recorded before the DuMontet item was moved for placement on the Feb. 18 agenda.
Final approval or additional terms for the DuMontet lease will be recorded if and when the council acts on the consent agenda at its Feb. 18 meeting.
