Committee advises council to place termination of Snoqualmie Ridge developer water agreement on consent agenda

City Attorney Burke told the Snoqualmie Community Development Committee on Tuesday that the 1997 developer extension agreement for the Snoqualmie Ridge water system appears to have been satisfied and recommended terminating the recorded agreement to clear title.

Burke said the city received a bill of sale and warranty of construction for the water improvements in 1998 and that Resolution 485 accepted conveyance of the completed water system. Because the improvements were conveyed and the listed attachments appear completed, Burke described the termination as "really just a housekeeping item to clear up title." The committee directed staff to place the termination agreement on the next council meeting consent agenda, with authorization for the mayor to sign if council approves.

Council Member Johnson asked whether the termination would affect a single property or the entire Snoqualmie Ridge; Burke said the termination covers specific parcel numbers listed on the recorded title and that, given the conveyance, the city likely cannot reassert obligations under the agreement. City Administrator Chambliss added that the wastewater treatment facility installed in 1998 has been rebuilt twice since then. Burke said there was no apparent financial impact from the termination. Staff will bring the termination agreement forward on the consent agenda for formal council action.
