The Senate confirmed a quorum and approved a motion to adjourn until Thursday, Feb. 6, at 9:30 a.m.
Senator Hayes said the chamber would resume appropriations work immediately after the adjournment: “Members, we will continue with the appropriations meetings that, we started yesterday. We're now down to our final two committees. So 15 minutes after we gavel out in Room 535, we will go in and finish that work.”
Senator Woods announced a campus blood drive later in the day: “The blood drive's still going. 2:30 today, Room 100,” she said.
A senator moved, “I move when the clerk's desk is clear, the Senate stand adjourn until Thursday, February 6 at 09:30AM.” The motion was adopted by voice vote.
The chair’s recognition of a quorum preceded the adjournment motion, enabling the Senate to set the schedule for its next floor meeting and the follow-up appropriations committees.
