Assembly Natural Resources Committee adopts committee policies unanimously

The Assembly Committee on Natural Resources voted unanimously to adopt its committee policies during its first meeting, the panel’s chair said.

Chair Nathe Anderson opened the meeting and then, after a short staff briefing on the policies, called for a motion. “If not, I will take a motion to adopt the committee policies for the Assembly Committee on natural resources,” she said. Vice Chair Selena LaRue Hatch moved the motion and Assemblymember Rich DeLong seconded it. Anderson then called for a voice vote; members answered “aye” and she declared, “Motion is carried and carried unanimously.”

Becky Perrette, committee policy analyst with the Legislative Counsel Bureau Research Division, briefed members on the committee policy document before the vote, describing it as an introduction to the committee’s work, past workloads, and resources for the session. She summarized referral counts from the last five sessions and noted that the Research Division is available to assist members with nonpartisan background research.

The adopted policies are the standard internal guidelines meant to complement the Assembly standing rules and joint standing rules. Committee staff and the Research Division told members the policies and related materials are available on the Legislature’s public portal for review.

No roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript; the motion was adopted by unanimous voice vote. The committee proceeded to scheduled presentations after the vote.
