Senior planner Thad Crowe told the board the area is transitioning from agricultural to light‑industrial uses near the airport and that the parcel is inside the county’s urban service boundary. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval and staff said the rezoning is consistent with the mixed‑use future land‑use designation.
Crowe briefed commissioners that water and sewer service lines do not yet reach the parcel; he said lines are nearby on St. Lucie Boulevard. The applicant did not make additional remarks during the public hearing. No members of the public spoke on the item. Commissioners approved the rezoning by voice vote.
