The FirstLight letter, read into the record, states the project would repower an existing kerosene generator system with battery storage and that FirstLight is partnering with New Leaf Energy. The letter gives an anticipated petition filing and an estimated timeline (petition filing in the near future, anticipated Siting Council approval by mid‑2025 pending approvals and equipment procurement, preliminary site work in spring 2026 and construction finishing in spring 2027). The letter provided contact names for FirstLight and New Leaf for questions and said the petitioner was committed to answering questions from neighbors and officials.
A separate correspondence from Desegregate Connecticut requested that the commission invite its organizers to present the Live‑Work‑Ride proposal at a future meeting; the commission indicated willingness to schedule a presentation after March and asked staff to place the request on a later agenda.
No formal action was taken on either correspondence aside from acknowledgment and scheduling intent to consider a presentation from the pro‑reform coalition later in 2025.
