Millard County commissioners approve tourism billboard, concert contract and several routine county agreements

The Millard County Commission voted Feb. 4 to approve a package of tourism and administrative items, including a purchase agreement for a tourism billboard, a 10‑year ground lease with Fillmore City for the billboard, a concert contract, the purchase of an enclosed trailer for tourism staff, renewal of an Adult Probation & Parole lease and the acceptance of two mag‑chloride bids for road maintenance.

The actions were taken during a regularly scheduled commission meeting in Fillmore. Commissioners approved a purchase agreement with MLH Inc. and Highmark Development Corp. for a digital tourism billboard; the commission also approved a separate ground‑lease agreement with Fillmore City for the billboard site, a 10‑year lease at $4,000 annually, to be paid from tourism funds. Bonnie (county staff) explained the lease terms on the record, saying, “This just leaves out a 10 year term, for $4,000 annually.”

The commission approved an entertainment contract with Matt and Savannah Shaw for a single concert set for Dec. 3 at Delta High School.
