House Elections Committee adopts committee substitute for HJR 23 and HJR 3, 10-2

Representative John Woods said he would vote no, framing his opposition as a concern about allowing 115 counties to decide governance for a single county; Woods told the committee, “I will be voting no today.”
Roll-call votes recorded in the hearing transcript show the following members voting Aye: Chairman Reedy; Vice Chairman Waller; Representative Vanderman; Representative Burns; Representative Coleman; Representative McGaugh; Representative Simmons; Representative Tyson Smith; Representative Boss; and Representative Wright. Representatives Woods and Barnes recorded No votes.
