A Codington County official reported a glitch that delayed opening the county’s camping reservation system. The system was scheduled to open at midnight last Saturday but did not become available until after 8 a.m., prompting constituent contacts to county staff.
A public commenter identified as Steve said he and the system developer discussed the issue and agreed the vendor will double-check availability one to two days before future openings to avoid similar problems. “It didn’t actually get opened until after 08:00, and there was a little bit of glitches,” Steve said, apologizing for the inconvenience to residents who waited to make reservations.
County staff confirmed the system was functioning at the time of the meeting and recorded no formal claims or abatements related to the outage.
