At the start of its Feb. 4 meeting, the Del Norte Local Transportation Commission elected Commissioner Jason Greenout as chair and Commissioner Chris Howard as vice chair, following nominations and a roll call vote. The chair nomination was moved from the floor and the commission “unanimously voted Mr. Greenout as being chair,” according to the meeting record.
The commission then took its consent agenda, which contained one item: approval of the meeting minutes from Dec. 18. The motion to approve the minutes was moved by Darren Schroeder and seconded by Commissioner Altman. During the roll call vote Jesse Robertson recorded an abstention; all other voting members present voted yes and the minutes were approved.
Later in the meeting the commission adjourned as the Policy Advisory Committee and reconvened as the Del Norte Local Transportation Commission. A motion to accept the actions taken by the Policy Advisory Committee was made, seconded and approved by roll call.
Why it matters: election of officers sets the commission’s leadership for the year; approval of minutes and acceptance of PAC actions are routine procedural steps that allow the commission’s business to proceed and documents to be finalized.
Votes and motions recorded at the meeting: • Chair election: nomination for Jason Greenout and unanimous vote recorded in favor (meeting transcript: “we have unanimously voted Mr. Greenout as being chair”). • Vice chair: nomination of Chris Howard, motion seconded, roll call recorded as yes from voting members present. • Consent agenda (Dec. 18 minutes): motion to approve moved by Darren Schroeder, seconded by Commissioner Altman; Jesse Robertson abstained, other voting members recorded yes; minutes approved. • Acceptance of PAC actions: motion moved and seconded; roll call recorded as yes votes from present voting members; motion passed.
No additional substantive policy actions were contained in the consent vote; the items were procedural and recorded in the meeting minutes.
