Budget committee discusses passing credit-card fees to users; city pays about $250,000 annually

The committee also reported progress on utility assistance programs, with Althauser noting that enrollment is increasing. The committee reviewed the scope of work for a financial planning consultant the city plans to hire to assess organizational finances and identify potential efficiencies.
Althauser described the budget meeting as substantive and said the items discussed will be returned to council in greater detail; the meeting did not record any final votes on fee pass-throughs during the Feb. 4 meeting.
